A Space Story 36

Duron spoke into the communicator, “what are the Spectral Horde forces doing?  Where are they attacking?”
“So far they have not gone out of their way to attack anything,” they reported from command and control, “they just keep moving and stopping then moving on.  They split into three groups, two small ones and a big one.  Oh god. There’s fire.  There are multiple fire alerts.  Sir I think they are planting explosives.  They are blowing things up.”
            “Where are they going?”
“The first team is planting bombs in storage areas.  They are blowing up supplies.  The second team, it looks like they are going towards the medical center.  And the third team, the big team, they are headed towards the hangar.  I think they are going to attack the kite fighter bay.”
“If they destroy those fighters we lose our best weapon against them,” said Kerrigan.
“Or they could be planning to capture them,” said Zai, “the Spectral Horde must not be allowed to possess Raath technology.”
“Where is the security team?” demanded Duron.
“Ms. Sajan has mobilized her teams and all pilots and military personnel are scrambling, but no one is sure where to go first sir.”
“These are my orders,” said Duron, “tell Mr. Sinclair to start distributing weapons as fast as he can.  The main security team and all pilots are to defend the kite fighter hangar.  That is our top priority.  All other security and military personnel are to either defend the medical center or take back the storage units depending on which they are closer to.”
“I must get to the command and control center,” said Zai.
“What for?” Kerrigan wanted to know.
“There are still three Spectral Horde battle cruisers surrounding us,” said Zai.
“We have fought more than three before,” said Duron.
“Not without the kite fighters deployed,” said Zai, “I will go to the bridge and use the advanced razor system.”
“Now there’s an advanced razor system?” said Kerrigan.
“Only I am capable of using it,” said Zai, “I suggest you find a place of safety.”
Zai ran off ahead of them and out of sight.
